Osbourne Lodge Nursery officially opened its doors on 5 January 1998 with Lisa as Officer in Charge as she still is today. Clare followed shortly after and Jane started at the Nursery in the year following.

It really has been an enjoyable 14 years with staff numbers rising from 2 all those years ago to 15 today. The success of the Nursery is all thanks to the hard work and commitment of everyone involved, keeping up to date with new ideas and supporting the Nursery through many awards and accreditation’s.

I have been very lucky as owner to have retained most staff long term who have all helped to develop the Nursery into a very highly respected child care setting.

A massive thank you to all staff, students, friends and families for their support over the past 14 years and here’s to many more!

The children love the new play rug in the imaginary room. It is the perfect storytelling mat or imagination space for the children

We have committed the Nursery to the Healthy and Sustainable Pre-school National Award Scheme via Torfaen Early Years. We look forward to the process and to ensuring we are always doing the absolute best for our wonderful children of Pontypool.

The award runs over 3 years with the first year centering on Nutrition and Oral Health. We shall be looking at the Nursery as a whole also to ensure all standards are at their highest and incorporating more healthy activities into the daily education planning.
